Spring break Update

My progress will not be done due to lack of concentration subjects. I need pictures of people I know to continue, which I have none.

I do have more breadth peices to enter, so I do have than to contribute.

As for the AP test,

Im broke therefor I cannot buy a test, what is in store for me now? Do I not qualify for the credit or do I only receive a grade for the class? Email me? I dont check this, its not on my important list haha.

I'm sorry that really sucks.

You will get a grade for the class and depending on the college you go to they may accept the class as a credit... But you can't get the credit you would have if you had taken the test...

What about using your friends myspace pictures or family picture albums to use for references?

Chanelle,
See Mrs. Burris ASAP about your fee.

Brittany,
AP Art is a little different from other AP classes since students are working on portfolios all year instead of just preparing for a test. Creating the concentration portfolio is the primary task for spring semester, and it is a requirement for AP students (not for Adv. Art Portfolio students) to turn in a portfolio in May. AP students who do not make a reasonable effort to complete their portfolio and turn it in to College Board receive "NC."

For several colleges I've looked into in order to begin undergrad art classes you must submit a portfolio of 12 or more pieces, much like what the AP portfolio has you do. Although some places don't accept AP scores as credit most I've researched do require a portfolio submission, so the work you've done to get class credit but not an AP score can still be put to good use :)

I just want to make sure you guys are 100% clear that you will not receive credit for the AP Art class if you don't complete your portfolios. You guys have known about the test fee for 10 months now, and we've talked about waivers, fundraising, etc. Not turning in a portfolio is simply not an option! We'll talk about this more in class...

I think it would be more interesting if all of your peices were of people you know, and I really like Brittany's idea of using friends' myspace pictures. Just be sure to change up the layout of the peices so they don't all look like they came from the same type of photos.

I agree with Megan and Brittany on getting more pictures. Your a great artist and im sure that people would enjoy you drawing them. Ask friends on Myspace or Facebook, if you can use one of their pictures. Or even look throu a photo album. Im sorry about your fee.

Keep up the great work
