Samwise Didier

This artist doesn't really work in one specific medium, he is an artist who digitally paints and works as a concept artist for Blizzard. One character he worked on was Zeratul in the Starcraft universe. The person who came up with the idea behind Zeratul was actually Chris Metzen, but the character was designed by Sam. He also worked on making a joke race for a different game designed by Blizzard which consisted of samurai warrior pandas. I like his artwork because he is able to get the idea in his head across visually in a way that is pleasing to the eye, even if you are looking at karate pandas. This artist influences my work to try and put more effort in understanding how to design characters and environments so that I can draw the ideas in my head without a reference or anything.

It should be saturday right now

These are three photos this is my found art shoot with glass bottles and mirrors.

These two are of my two little sisters when we went to seaside I really like the top one and i still feel a bit iffy on the bottom one.

Self-Portrait

This is the self-portrait of me. For this piece, I use watercolor and black permanent marker. So far, this is one of my best pieces.

Blog Assignment, 11/12

GOOD MORNING!

This month, you may choose to do ONE or BOTH of the following:
  1. Post 3 edited slides with short commentary on each piece. Please do ONE POST ONLY, (i.e., do not post three pieces in three separate posts). Be sure to label with "name, slides." Comments are optional. (4 points)
  2. Pick a contemporary artist that you admire, and post a picture of his or her work, along with answers to the following questions: 1. What medium or media does this artist work with? 2. How would you describe his or her artwork? 3. What is it that you like about this artist? 4. How might this artist influence your work? This should be like a short reflective essay, about a half a page to a page in length. Answers should be thorough and self-reflective. Don't have a favorite artist? Try my shared items for ideas. Please label with your name only.
If you do both, you might receive some extra credit!

This piece was for the toy assignment. It was done with chalk pastels and charcoal. It was my first time using them, I might use it again but it’s not my favorite media.

This piece was for the origami assignment. It was done with watercolor and sharpie.

This piece was for the found art assignment. It was done with acrylic paint.

Mugs and more...

This mug I made in ceramics. its not one of my bests, but i like it. Im not doing 3d but , i wanted to post it and see what you think.
This mask was also made in ceramics, the inspiration was old fashioned masquerade partys.

This is also a mug that has an animal , and it was also a ceramics assignment. I liked how the colors of the real peacocks were very colorful and majestic

Jason c!

This piece is made of graphite pencil and colored pencils. I made this piece have a meaning with the words to add more intrest, it was just something that popped into my head at the time.
This piece I made in drawing studio last year I think? I thought it was one my best pieces of that class which is why i chose it. It's made of graphite pencil. It was hard to to incorporate hands in a landscape but in the end personally I thought I did really well with it.

This is a charcoal drawing of a wooden toy which has string as well. I used lighting to show the different materials as well as to show the size of the toy.

This piece started as a doodle in maple crest and ended up being my summer piece. I tried to make the piece have really noticeable bright colors and dark colors right next to each other. And as well as that I tried to make him have a lot of expression on his face.

The story of a crow and his donut

I TA for Timko second period. They were doing the contrasto paper assignment, so I just had to do it. I probably won't use it for AP, I just had fun. Also, I was successful in not stabbing myself or anyone else with the xacto knife, so that's pretty good considering my ungraceful tendencies.

In this photo, we see a charcoal depiction of a storm trooper and Darth Vader finally expressing their long-hidden love affair. I wonder what kind of cake would be there. Also, could storm troopers be female? Does that make this a same-sex marriage? DARTH VADER LIVES IN CALIFORNIA?!?!

This was for the crane assignment. It took me a considerable amount of time and I pulled a Miriam Huerta and stayed up until four in the morning on it. This is the fourth version of the crane assignment, and the only relatively succesful one.

October Blog Post

This piece is of my younger brother, his name is Blake. I took this photograph of him in my back yard. It was done in pencil, and took about 4hours to complete. I feel that the original photograph was much stronger.

This piece includes a heart and my name in chinese. I used warm colors for the heart and cool colors for the background to show contrast (and that it is a warm heart). If i could go back and change something on this piece, i would make the background color more vibrant. (oil pastel and pen)

This piece in a way is accidental art, bacause it was going to be a flower until i messed up.... then it was abstract :P (bic pen & water color)

3 of the 8 wonders of the world

I found screws and bolts on the ground and layed them out to make them look like the letter "M"

I took a photo of two lego characters and sketched them out then outlined them in find point tip markers, then used some india ink to do shading.

This was my picture for the oragomi project, i wanted to make an unnatural object in a natural surrounding, but make the unnatural object act like a regular animal.

October

These are two of my pieces that I have shown in class. Seeing these makes me think about how much I really need to work on making slides, particularly in the picture taking part.

The bottle one is like a time capsule, memorabilia, and message in a bottle from my past. I am really emotionally connected to this piece.

This umbrella/ parasol, was the results of me trying to think of origami as a building block to a bigger picture. I think it's kind of sloppy, especially in the slide, but hopefully I'll figure something out for this piece.

Awesome

These are my 3 slides. I did the seashell one in Advanced Drawing Studio, and the city one in pencil and I plan to ink it in later.

UPLOAD 1

this is my crane project. it is also partly a self portrait that shows my exasperation in choosing what i actually wanted to do for the project. i used a fine tip sharpie to outline the drawing. this is also a prime example of how i cannot shoot a proper slide.

Tannon Gallamore is awesome (Get outa my face)

This is a charcoal piece of a whale. The bottom kinda sucks
This is a sunset drawn with colored pencil.

Another charcoal piece of a picture I took of glass chess piecec

AP Art Photos

This was for the accidental art project. I messed with my settings on my camera and didn't use a tripod so it turned out blurry. I played with the levels and got the light to look more bright in some places and darker in others.
I took this picture in California, and I didn't know how I got the sun glare, so I quit taking pictures of this statue. Then when we did accidental art, it made more sense and I like it now. It givves it an angel look.

Me and my family went hiking one day to a waterfall, and I took a bunch of pictures. I love the way the water shows up and how green the moss is.

Anila Ortsac

This was inspired by a bolt thingy in the woodshop room. I used graphite.
I used charcoal to draw this over the summer.

This is my found art piece. I dipped rubber bands in watercolor and tempra and then snapped them on to the paper.

FRIDAY!!!!!!!! ^_^

This is a piece i did the other weekend its acrylic on tagboard. I was thinking the color scheme idea seems like it might make a good concentration perhaps?

This is acrylic on masonite of our toy project. I think it looks almost finished not that i see it edited but I can work on it some more later =)

This is india ink and water color for our crane project. It needs a new/better slide for it.
My name is GinaMarie R. Im currently enrolled in AP STUDIO ART. My focus is drawing. My favorite kind of art is abrtract. My favorite artists are Polloc and Hokusai. Fact: i dont know how to draw horses.

A Piece of Mine:

3 Pieces For October

The first photo is a picture of my sister Laura who is 23. She is the 'princess' of the family, so i thought it would be cool to dress her up in a tu-tu and take pictures of her in a park.
The second photo is a picture of a leaf that I took in April at my grandparents house. It shows "April Showers Bring May Flowers".
The third photo is a picture of a building i took in Paris, France. It shows the unique architechture in Europe and I loved the effect of the clouds behind it because it looks godly almost.

Blog Assignment, 10/15

Good morning! Here is your assignment for today:
  1. Do your monthly blog post: 3 edited slides with short commentary on each piece. Please do ONE POST ONLY, (i.e., do not post three pieces in three separate posts). Try to finish your post by about 8:15 to leave time for comments. (4 points)

  2. THEN, starting at 8:15, you will make four comments on four different blog posts from the month of October. Please do not comment on someone's work that already has four comments. When you are finished, everyone should have four comments on their own post. These comments should consist of encouragement, critique, and other constructive feedback. Please be specific about what you like or what you think needs improvement. (1 point for each comment, 4 total)
  3. If you have time today, please go back to all of your past posts and make sure they are labeled with your first name (spelled correctly) and the word "slides."
